The Greene County girls basketball team continues to look for their first victory of the 2022/23 season. They dropped their final game of the year to Nevada 51-10 on Dec. 20.
The Rams struggled offensively against the Cubs, scoring just four points in the first quarter and then only two points in each of the second, third and fourth frames. The score was 27-6 at halftime.
No statistics have been posted on the Bound website. The team is 0-8 this season.
The boys team also fell to Nevada 87-56. Greene County has a 3-5 record this season.
The Rams stayed with the Cubs in the first quarter, trailing 20-16. They trailed 41-31 at the break. Nevada outscored Greene County by ten points in the third to open up a 20 point lead and then put the game away in the fourth.
Jesse Miller had a big game with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Richard Daugherty added 15 points and seven assists.
As a team, the Rams shot at 38.9 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from the free throw line. The Rams turned the ball over 16 times and committed 10 fouls.
The Rams open the 2023 portion of the season hosting Webster City Monday, Jan. 2.
